Phlebotomist
Full-Time - Evening Shift
3p-11pm

Job Summary:

  • Obtains proper blood specimens from patients in the hospital
  • Prepares all specimens to reference laboratories
  • Collects appropriate control specimens as requested
  • Assists technologists and other personnel as time and training permits
  • Performs related clerical, billing and charting responsibilities
  • Identifies age specific phlebotomy needs of patients and implements appropriate procedures and processes

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Previous exposure to Emergency Room and trauma situations.
  • Basic medical terminology
  • Understanding of medical ethics and handling of confidential information. Formal or on-the-job blood collection techniques.

Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
