Job description

Conxxus was founded with a mission for enhancing the quality of life in rural communities by providing competitively priced, state-of-the-art telecommunication services. Conxxus fiber infrastructure is Illinois’ first all fiber-to-the-home network. With fiber-to-the-home architecture, Conxxus is able to offer a full spectrum of video, voice and high-speed internet services to residential and business customers. By offering three services from one company, customers take advantage of bundled services – Conxxus is your one stop shop for all of your telecommunication needs.
Responsibilities
  • Twisted pair copper (adsl and vdsl) and fiber installations
  • Provision and monitor Internet/IPTV/VOIP services
  • Travel in company vehicles for service calls/on site projects
  • Work with coax/fiber tools and equipment
  • Communicate procedures, policies, and other information to customers
  • Work with support to resolve customer issues
Experience/Skills/Requirements
  • Entry Level
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Willing to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime
  • Valid driver’s license; good driving record
  • Knowledge of mechanical and consumer devices
  • Willing to work in varying heights, close spaces, and weather conditions
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge/experience on processes leading up to actual installation process to turn up customers media services.
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts and fundamentals/experience preferred
  • Knowledge/experience with installation equipment
  • Knowledge/experience with drop plow and/or trencher
  • Broadband technician: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Voice, data, coax: 1 year (Preferred)
Schedule
  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities
  • Shifts range from Monday – Saturday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
