Overview
The Housekeeper performs all custodial work throughout the building to keep the Owensboro Convention Center & Sportscenter clean. They're responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the facility, ensuring that all areas meet established cleanliness and sanitation standards.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00
Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching.
This position will remain open until September 11, 2026.
Responsibilities
  • Arrive for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform and ready to work.
  • Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom sanitation.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and high-touch surfaces regularly.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
  • Refill paper products, soap dispensers, and other supplies as needed.
  • Maintain floors through stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning as needed.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment as required.
  • Assist with outdoor sweeping or seasonal upkeep when applicable.
  • Works safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines.
  • Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor and acknowledges guests in a friendly manner.
  • All other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written forms.
  • Work independently and exercise good judgment and initiative.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, stooping, lifting, and walking.
  • Physical demands of prolonged repetitive motions normally associated with mopping, sweeping, buffing, dusting, and climbing.
  • Ability to work inside or outside environments.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
