Job description

Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking Journeyman Structural Welders to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB.

This offer is specific to our night shift team who are provided with excellent premiums for the night shift. Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements.
  • Read all types of welding symbols
  • Welding of all types of structural materials using FCAW and SMAW processes
  • Have valid CWB certification In FCAW to a least G3 Vertical position prior to start date
  • Fabricating skids supports platforms ladder stairs handrails etc.
  • Cutting gouging grinding of all types of structural materials
  • Setup operating and cleanup of equipment Saw Ironworker Welding Machine FCAW feeder etc.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of directly related work experience.
  • As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
  • This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
