Job Overview:

Pay Range: $16.20hr - $18hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Experience in processing is required.
  • FLU vaccine required.
  • HOSPITAL CREDENTIALS ALSO REQUIRED.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department.
  • Conduct data entry tasks with a background in data processing.
  • Handle A-station, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
  • Engage in imaging/microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting.
  • Maintain confidence, accuracy, and timeliness in all functions performed.
  • Demonstrate good organization skills and the ability to learn and understand specimen types related to tests ordered.
  • Adapt to compliance regulations related to test ordering which may change daily.
  • Work in a production environment with an emphasis on productivity and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Adhere to core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Keep work area neat and clean.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.
  • Show flexibility and ability to adapt to change.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of computers.
  • Preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
  • Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour.

Qualification And Education:

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required but previous laboratory experience preferred.
  • Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
  • Previous hospital laboratory experience is a plus but not required.
  • Previous experience in a production environment preferred.
