Job description

When someone needs insurance coverage for the unique, the unusual, or the unconventional, they come to Burns & Wilcox. Burns & Wilcox offers unparalleled resources and exposure for those looking to grow their career in the specialty insurance industry.We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive for career advancement to join our team as an Associate Broker. Our Associate Brokers broker and supervise a portion of a Broker’s book of business, and support renewal and new business development.


  • Broker and supervise a portion of a Broker’s book of business, focused on, but not limited to renewals
  • Prepare submissions for markets and secure quotes
  • Maintain excellent client and agent relationships
  • Assist Brokers to develop and execute marketing plans to drive new and renewal business, including in-person agency visits, telemarketing and distributing marketing materials
  • Supervise execution of company underwriting guidelines, corporate policy and procedures, and compliance with contract terms
  • Mentor and train Assistant Brokers as needed  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience  
  • Minimum 2 years of Broker support or industry experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing
  • Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail
  • Interest in continued education and professional development
