Sales Executive, Special Risk – Job Description


Position Summary

The Sales Executive, Special Risk is responsible for developing and managing a profitable book of business, primarily focused on educational institutions and student-related programs. This role drives growth through consultative selling, deep exposure analysis, and the delivery of tailored insurance and risk management solutions. The position combines strategic relationship development with hands-on sales execution, supporting organizational growth while serving as a subject matter expert within the Special Risk practice.


Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership & Ownership

·         Own development of a Special Risk book of business within education and related sectors.

·         Act as subject matter expert in specialized education-related risk solutions.

·         Partner with internal stakeholders to align strategy and solutions.


Hands-On Execution & Delivery

·         Prospect and develop new clients across schools, colleges, and student programs.

·         Conduct discovery meetings and design tailored insurance programs.

·         Maintain active pipeline and achieve revenue goals.


Reporting, Quality & Operational Support

·         Maintain CRM documentation and accurate tracking of opportunities.

·         Ensure quality and consistency in proposals and deliverables.


Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration

·         Collaborate with Client Managers and Account Managers for seamless service.

·         Work with carriers and program administrators to deliver solutions.


Growth, Change & Special Initiatives

·         Identify emerging risks and contribute to solution development.

·         Support expansion into nonprofit, medical, and other sectors.


Process Improvement & Best Practices

·         Identify opportunities to improve sales and service processes.

·         Stay current on education sector trends and regulations.


Accountability

·         Deliver revenue growth and maintain client retention.

·         Provide high-quality consultative risk solutions.

·         Build long-term client and partner relationships.


Qualifications
Required

·         Active Accident & Health license or ability to obtain.

·         3+ years of consultative sales experience.

·         Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

·         Ability to work with complex organizations and leadership teams.


Preferred

·         Experience with Special Risk coverages and education sector clients.

·         Existing industry relationships.

·         Experience with Applied EPIC.
