Job description

The Dead End Hayride is an interactive Haunted Attraction. We strive on providing our attendees Minnesota's ultimate horror experience and a full night of entertainment.


We are seeking to hire motivatedMakeup Artiststo join our team.Applicants with experience in special effects makeup, theatrical/character makeup, airbrush makeup, and prosthetic application should apply. Applicants must be able to provide samples of previous work. If you are invited to be interviewed, you will be required to bring your portfolio, hard copy or electronic. Job Duties (including but are not limited to):


  • Perform individually or in a group setting
  • Troubleshoot airbrush and compressor equipment
  • Makeup application, touchups, and removals
  • Ensure show quality with uniquely designed looks
  • Maintains professionalism while working with over 20 actors per night
  • Maintains cleanliness of workstation and area
  • Following The Dead End Hayride's standards of workplace conduct
  • Following The Dead End Hayride's makeup artist handbook


Job Requirements:


  • Must be able to work all weekends starting September 15th, 2023 - October 31st, 2023
  • Must have at least 2 years of professional makeup experience
  • Must have the ability to apply special effects makeup
  • Must have knowledge in airbrush makeup application
  • Must be able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Must be able to work for long periods of time while standing
  • Must be self motivated with ability to work independently or as a team player


Employment Length:

  • 2 months


Typical Start/End Time:

  • Start Time: 3:30pm - 4:00pm
  • End Time: 7:30pm - 8:00pm


Typical Hours (per week):

  • 10 - 35 hours (6 week season, progressively more dates)
