Sterile Processing TechnicianScheduled details (Hours, Shift, Time): 8hr Eve 3pm-11:30pmExperience Requirements: 3+ yrs sterile processing tech, 1 successful travel contract. At least 2 years of experience in quality assurance, staff education, or supervisory responsibilities.Responsibilities:Monitor SPD workflow, quality, and daily operations.Perform daily process and quality tray audits and document results in the tracking system.Monitor staff competencies and provide training, coaching, and re-education.Train new hires and assist with annual competency assessments.Maintain accurate quality and event reporting, including ERA/internal and external quality events.Demonstrate proficiency with the instrument tracking system and ensure audits are documented for traceability.Monitor routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.Follow SPD policies, guidelines, manufacturer IFUs, and load-failure procedures.Promote compliance with AAMI, Joint Commission, and hospital standards.Support implementation of process improvements to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency.Communicate effectively with Site Management, Supervisors, and Quality/Education leadership.Submit detailed daily reports and respond promptly to communications.Attend meetings and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.License/Certification Requirements: sterile processing technician either CRCST or CBSPDT, Expert on SPD AAMI, Joint Commission, Infection Prevention; Epic experienceFloating Requirements: NoWeekend Requirements: NoOn-Call Requirements: N/AHoliday Requirements: NoOrder Status: OpenOrientation: 6hrs/ 3hrs non billableCreds Due: Thursday before startInterview: phone screen/ 2nd interview virtual group Teams callPayroll: Biweekly
