Job Title: Sterile Processing Production Coordinator

Department: Sterile Processing

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Production Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all loaner and consignment instrument trays while overseeing daily production workflows within a healthcare environment. This role ensures timely processing, accuracy, compliance, and seamless communication between vendors, clinical teams, and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) staff.


Key Responsibilities1. Loaner & Consignment Tray Coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing loaner and consignment trays.
  • Verify tray accuracy, completeness, and integrity before and after sterilization.
  • Coordinate with vendors, clinical partners, and SPD teams to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Track and document tray movement throughout the full sterilization and return cycle.
2. Production & Workflow Oversight
  • Oversee daily production flow in collaboration with SPD leadership.
  • Prioritize workloads to maximize efficiency and meet operational demands.
  • Identify and resolve delays, discrepancies, or workflow bottlenecks proactively.
  • Provide guidance and day-to-day oversight to Production Technicians as needed.
3. Communication & Relationship Management
  • Act as a liaison between vendors, clinical teams, and SPD staff.
  • Maintain regular communication with hospital departments and surgical teams regarding tray status and scheduling.
  • Ensure professional, clear, and confident communication in all interactions.
4. Data Accuracy & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry in tracking systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation of sterilization records and tray movement.
  • Generate reports on production activity, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Uphold compliance with regulatory and operational standards.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on Sterile Processing experience, with a focus on loaner and consignment tray management.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in instrument tracking systems and reporting tools.
