The Work You Will Do:
GIS Mapping Analyst II / Transportation Data and Analytics
This role provides comprehensive support for the management, quality, and dissemination of spatial transportation data, ensuring its accessibility for analysis, dashboards, and enterprise applications. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing the Department's Unified Linear Referencing System, administering ArcGIS Online with a focus on data governance and application development, and supporting geospatial initiatives involving research, AI, and process improvement. The position also contributes to emergency management efforts by supporting technical products, maintaining readiness of response resources, and assisting with hurricane damage assessment tools. Additionally, it oversees the creation and maintenance of federal aid highway maps and associated ArcGIS Online solutions to support statewide transportation programs.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Spatial Data SupportOversee and provide support for the formatting, storage, and dissemination of spatial data created by the Transportation Data & Analytics Office. Provide support for spatial traffic data infrastructure and availability for analysis, dashboards, and other applications. Provide support for spatial data initiatives, including linear referencing system (LRS) intersection modeling; traffic message channel (TMC) segment events; university research; task management; geospatial artificial intelligence (AI); and historical data. Support improving processes and efficiencies pertaining to spatial data.
Unified LRSProvide support for the Department's Unified LRS, including technical team workflows; collaboration with external organizations; and enterprise data dissemination. Facilitate process improvement and efficiencies pertaining to the Unified LRS. Provide technical support for data ingestion and quality assurance workflows for the Unified LRS dataset.
ArcGIS Online AdministrationServe as a Department ArcGIS Online administrator. Provide administrative support, direction, and guidance for the ArcGIS Online user community. Develop apps in ArcGIS Experience Builder and migrate existing apps to Experience Builder. Ensure timely and consistent data governance for ArcGIS Online content.
Emergency Management SupportProvide technical support for products and services in response to emergencies. Provide support to the Department's Emergency Management Team during emergencies. Support the Department's Hurricane Damage Assessment application. Ensure that emergency response resources are available year-round.
Federal Aid MapsMaintain maps of federal aid highways and provide them via the Department's website. Develop and maintain ArcGIS Online solutions for federal aid highway data and analysis.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of geographic information systems concepts. Knowledge of geographic information systems software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. Knowledge of linear referencing concepts. Knowledge of database management systems.
Skills in:
Skills in working with geographic information systems software and data. Skills in GIS customization using Python or other programming languages.
Ability to:
Ability to learn and utilize new geographic information systems technologies, software, and concepts. Ability to perform spatial analysis and interpret results. Ability to interpret and communicate technical information relating to geographic information systems both verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain cordial, effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers, both in Central Office and with the Districts.
Other Job-Related Requirements:
Employee will be required to be responsive to emergency situations within a very short timeframe and serve in the Transportation Emergency Management Team (TEMT).
Minimum Qualifications:
Three (3) or more years of experience in geographic information systems and Esri software utilization.
