Job description

Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team.  The Business Analyst role is an integral team member who works with the various groups to support modernization efforts. For this role, the candidate will work directly with the customer and team members. They will translate product strategy and roadmap into well-defined user stories, features, and enablers that realize the product vision and improve the customer experience. This role will also perform Scrum Master duties, including meeting facilitation and engaging in biweekly testing of the completed user stories. 

Work Location: This position is hybrid. Candidates should reside in either the Austin, TX, or Washington, DC metro areas.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user needs to determine functional and cross-functional requirements throughout the standard development life cycle
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product teams to decompose large epic stories into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team
  • Develop strategic frameworks, providing a basic structure of program missions, vision, and goals
  • Document stories and manage backlog in Jira
  • Proven experience writing detailed functional and technical requirements
  • Provide product management support such as prioritization and backlog grooming
  • Provide analysis for associated tasks during the life cycle
  • Coach the team to create better solutions, improve business results, and better their processes
  • Facilitate team meetings, including Backlog Refinement / Iteration Planning / Daily Stand-Up / Iteration Review / Iteration Retrospective
  • Remove impediments and barriers to the team’s progress
  • Communicate and track agreed upon team metrics
  • Communicate and coordinate meetings, presentations, and develop work products
  • Develop test cases
  • Ensure requirements are tested and provide expected functionality
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Other activities shall include:

    • Scope management
    • Change management
    • Issues management
    • Risk management
    • Quality management
    • Problem solving and conflict-resolution. 
  • Specialized experience includes:
    • Project development from inception to deployment

Requirements

 Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience is required
  • Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems
  • Must have experience working with Agile/Scrum
  • Must have experience with Jira
  • Strong work ethic, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems. You must have lived in the US for the past three (3) years.
