Job Title: Senior Physical Security Systems Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Physical Security Systems Architect to lead the design and implementation of integrated security solutions for complex, high-stakes facilities. This is a technical leadership role for an engineer who understands that "physical security" is a data-driven discipline-integrating video, access control, and intrusion detection into a cohesive, network-ready architecture.
You will act as the "Technical Lead" for our security design efforts, collaborating with architects, electrical engineers, and instrumentation teams to ensure security is built into the facility, not bolted on after construction. Whether you are leading a project from the initial vulnerability assessment phase or finalizing construction-ready schematics, you will play a critical role in shaping the safety and security of our most complex project environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Project Leadership
• Technical Ownership: Lead the entire design lifecycle, from preliminary vulnerability/risk assessments and concept creation through the production of final schematics, specifications, and plan drawings.
• Complex Analysis: Perform critical engineering calculations, including video storage requirements, network bandwidth analysis, and power load modeling for diverse security technology deployments.
• Cross-Discipline Coordination: Partner with civil, electrical, and structural engineering teams to identify potential spatial conflicts and ensure architectural/infrastructure alignment.
• Project Governance: Estimate design efforts, build project schedules, and manage the technical delivery of mid-to-large-scale security implementations.
Innovation & Integration
• Emerging Technology: Evaluate new security innovations-such as advanced imaging, perimeter intrusion analytics, and automated detection systems-to determine their technical feasibility and ROI for our clients.
• Network & Cyber Integration: Apply deep knowledge of network topologies and cybersecurity principles to ensure our physical security systems are hardened against digital threats.
• Mentorship: Serve as a technical mentor to junior designers and engineers, promoting best practices in documentation, quality control, and innovative design.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in planning, designing, and commissioning enterprise-grade physical security systems.
• Technical Mastery:
oExpert knowledge of access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection hardware/software.
oProficiency in design collaboration tools (Bluebeam, Revit/BIM, AutoCAD).
• Professional Standards: Strong understanding of construction documentation, specification development, and project-level cost estimating.
Preferred Attributes
• Professional Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Industry Credentials: Professional security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CPP, PSP, RCDD).
• Domain Experience: Experience designing security for Data Centers or other high-reliability industrial/institutional facilities.
• Leadership: Experience leading project design teams and managing design resources.
