Job description

New Hudson Facades is seeking Mechanical Engineer Interns (MEI), Structural Engineer Interns (SEI), and CAD Technician Interns (CTI) to join our innovative team. These roles are designed for individuals who are currently pursuing their degree or are early in their careers, offering a chance to gain hands-on experience in the design, engineering, and delivery of custom curtainwall systems. Both internship and full-time opportunities are available.

What You’ll Do

Mechanical Engineering Interns (MEI)

  • Support design and process improvements across engineering, manufacturing, and installation teams.
  • Create 2D/3D drawings and parametric models to support project delivery.
  • Analyze specifications to ensure compliance with performance standards (thermal, acoustic, etc.).

Structural Engineering Interns (SEI)

  • Analyze and design curtainwall systems and components for code compliance and safety.
  • Develop structural calculations, including FEA models and load analysis.
  • Perform site inspections and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

CAD Technician Interns (CTI)

  • Work with Technical Project Manager and Engineers to create submittal details, plans, and elevations.
  • Create layout and tag drawings for installation.
  • Create fabrication drawings and models.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and material estimates.
  • Read and interpret architectural, structural, and project specifications.
  • Provide support to factory and field personnel as needed.
  • Follow best practice drafting and modeling standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current enrollment in or completion of a Mechanical, Structural, CAD Design, or related Engineering/Technical degree program.
  • 0–2 years of experience in engineering, drafting, or related work.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (Inventor/SolidWorks) required.
  • Strong problem-solving, spatial, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
