Position Overview

SFI is seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Scrum Master to support a federal customer. This hybrid role combines strong business analysis expertise with Agile Scrum leadership to deliver high-quality, user-centered solutions.

The ideal candidate will work closely with government stakeholders, product teams, and developers to translate product strategy into actionable user stories while guiding Agile processes and removing barriers to team success.

Requirements

Business Analysis
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate product strategy and roadmap into user stories, features, and enablers 
  • Analyze user needs to define functional and cross-functional requirements across the SDLC 
  • Decompose large epics into clear, testable user stories with defined acceptance criteria 
  • Manage and maintain the product backlog in Jira 
  • Support backlog grooming, prioritization, and release planning 
  • Conduct bi-weekly testing and validation of completed user stories 
  • Ensure delivered functionality aligns with requirements and customer expectations 
Scrum Master / Agile Leadership
  • Serve as Scrum Master, ensuring Agile best practices are followed 
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including: 
    • Backlog Refinement 
    • Sprint Planning 
    • Daily Stand-Ups 
    • Sprint Reviews / Demos 
    • Sprint Retrospectives 
  • Identify and remove impediments and blockers to team progress 
  • Coach team members to improve processes, collaboration, and delivery outcomes 
  • Track and communicate team metrics and performance indicators 
Collaboration & Support
  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating meetings, presentations, and deliverables 
  • Engage with customers and end users to address questions and gather feedback 
  • Promote strong communication across technical and non-technical teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or six (6) years of equivalent work experience instead of a degree 
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Business Analyst 
  • At least two (2) years of experience serving as a Scrum Master supporting IT/software development efforts 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed, comprehensive, testable, and traceable requirements, including: 
    • Business Requirements 
    • Functional Requirements 
    • Data Requirements 
    • System/Software Specifications 
    • Use Cases 
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments 
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting federal government programs 
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent 
  • Experience working in regulated or secure environments 
Clearance & Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust clearance 
  • Willingness to complete fingerprinting and background investigation for system access and badging

  • The salary for this position is $85,000 - $120,000 annually
