Spatial Ai information

What is Spatial AI?

Spatial AI refers to artificial intelligence systems designed to perceive, understand, and interact with the physical world in real time by processing spatial data. It combines elements of computer vision, 3D mapping, and sensor fusion to enable machines to interpret and respond to their environment, commonly used in robotics, augmented reality, and autonomous vehicles. Spatial AI technologies help machines understand objects, spaces, and movement, allowing for more advanced navigation and interaction within complex environments.

How does a spatial AI specialist typically collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale projects?

Spatial AI specialists often work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to develop and deploy intelligent spatial solutions. Their role involves integrating geospatial data with machine learning models, requiring frequent communication to align on project objectives, data requirements, and deployment strategies. Collaboration is key, especially when interpreting spatial data outputs for non-technical stakeholders and adapting models based on feedback from end users. Strong teamwork skills help ensure that spatial insights are actionable and support broader organizational goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a spatial AI engineer, and why are they important?

To excel as a Spatial AI Engineer, you need a solid background in computer vision, machine learning, and spatial data analysis, often supported by a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as Python, TensorFlow, OpenCV, GIS software, and experience with 3D data processing are commonly required, along with relevant certifications in AI or spatial technologies. Creative problem-solving, strong analytical thinking, and effective communication are crucial soft skills that help bridge technical solutions and real-world applications. These skills enable the development of innovative AI-driven spatial solutions that are accurate, efficient, and effectively meet organizational or client needs.

What is the difference between Spatial Ai vs GIS Analyst?

AspectSpatial AiGIS Analyst
Required CredentialsTypically requires knowledge of AI, machine learning, and spatial data processingRequires degree in geography, GIS, or related field; certifications like GISP are common
Work EnvironmentTech-focused, often in software development or data science teamsGovernment agencies, environmental firms, urban planning departments
Industry UsageEmerging in industries leveraging AI for spatial data analysisEstablished in mapping, urban planning, environmental management
Search & Comparison IntentUnderstanding AI-driven spatial analysis rolesTraditional GIS data analysis and mapping roles

Spatial Ai focuses on applying artificial intelligence to spatial data, often involving machine learning and advanced algorithms. GIS Analysts primarily work with geographic information systems to analyze and visualize spatial data. While both roles handle spatial data, Spatial Ai emphasizes AI integration, whereas GIS Analysts focus on traditional GIS tools and methods.

What jobs are available for spatial Ai?

Jobs related to spatial AI include roles such as geospatial data analyst, GIS developer, remote sensing specialist, and spatial data scientist. These positions often require skills in geographic information systems, programming, and data analysis, and may involve working with tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, or Python. Opportunities are available in industries like urban planning, environmental management, transportation, and technology companies focused on location-based services.

Job description

What We Do

Weโ€™re a no-nonsense AI lab building production-grade visual and spatial AI - specialising in 3D AI, computer vision, video processing, and deep learning on spatial data. Our technology is built on an in-house 3D AI engine and deployed through our own API and cloud platform infrastructure.

Founded in 2023, weโ€™ve evolved from a group of hustling engineers into a well-oiled machine - currently serving applications across industrial inspection, cybersecurity, sports analytics, gaming, industrial design, and more. Weโ€™ve doubled revenue in a year. Weโ€™re profitable and self-funded.

Weโ€™re now entering a transformative phase: shifting from a project-driven model to building scalable, product-centred solutions in high-impact verticals - focused on physical AI and spatial digital twins : bridging real-world environments and their digital representations to bring intelligence on top of them.

That includes a product for the new generation of robots: the quadrupeds, cobots, and autonomous systems being deployed into the messy, unpredictable real world. Not the factory cage - the construction site, the warehouse floor, the field. This is where classical robotics breaks down and where our technology matters.

The Role

Right now, every commercial decision flows through the CEO. Thatโ€™s the bottleneck, and youโ€™re the fix .

Youโ€™ll own the full commercial motion: pipeline, pricing, proposals, contracts, and market intelligence . Youโ€™ll also take ownership of marketing direction - shaping how we position ourselves and what content reaches the right people. When the time is right, youโ€™ll build a team underneath you.

This is not a quota-carrying sales role. Itโ€™s a builder role . Youโ€™ll work directly with the founders, engage industrial buyers, and help shape how our technology gets packaged, positioned, and brought to market. The commercial infrastructure has a foundation - a basic CRM, a solid IP and legal framework, and a team that already produces strong technical content - but it lacks dedicated hands and eyes. Thatโ€™s what you bring.

What Youโ€™ll Work On
  • Taking ownership of our commercial pipeline in industrial inspection and robotics
  • Improving pricing discipline and deal structure to better capture the value our technology creates
  • Evolving one-off projects into solution-oriented engagements with recurring platform revenue
  • Shaping go-to-market: which verticals, which buyers, which positioning - in close collaboration with the founders
  • Owning marketing direction: strategy, channels, content priorities - working with a team that already produces high-quality technical output
  • Running market validation conversations in parallel with day-to-day business development
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • 5โ€“10 years of B2B commercial experience, ideally in industrial automation, robotics, deep tech, or complex solution sales
  • Youโ€™ve built relationships with industrial buyers at C-level - not just managed inherited accounts
  • Youโ€™re comfortable selling something thatโ€™s still being shaped, and you contribute to the shaping
  • Entrepreneurial by nature: you create momentum where others wait for process
  • Based in or near Ghent - weโ€™re a team that works together
What We Offer
  • A competitive, senior-level package - base compensation in line with the responsibility and impact of the role
  • Equity participation from day one , structured to reward both commitment and performance - with room to grow as the company grows
  • Milestone-based progression: compensation scales directly with company growth
  • A founding team with a strong track record of building and scaling deep-tech companies to meaningful exits
  • A company at an inflection point: real revenue, a focused market, proprietary technology, and the commercial function to build
