PLM Analyst / Spare Parts Coordinator – Entry Level
Location: Novi, MI


Position Overview

We are seeking an entry-level PLM Analyst and Spare Parts Coordinator to join the Engineering organization at a machine tool manufacturing company in Novi, MI. This role is responsible for Bill of Material (BOM) creation, Spare Parts spreadsheet management, and supporting data integrity throughout the full product lifecycle using PLM and SAP systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in Excel, and comfortable working across multiple departments with moderate supervision.


Responsibilities

  • Create and manage Parts, BOMs, and Spare Parts spreadsheets within PLM and SAP systems
  • Analyze, process, and track engineering change submissions to minimize turnaround time between submission and implementation
  • Communicate BOM requirements between Supply Chain and Production to support material planning, order fulfillment, and execution
  • Maintain and update multilevel Bill of Material hierarchy including hardware and software components
  • Identify, collect, and document parts data for incorporation into spreadsheets; maintain consistent nomenclature, asset, and location formatting
  • Understand and apply customer-specific requirements including paint codes, alpha/numeric releases, kits, and record updates
  • Navigate and manage files and folder structures across internal systems
  • Support change management processes and promote best practices across PLM functions
  • Ensure data integrity between PLM and ERP systems throughout the change cycle
  • Interface with all departments, manage progress reporting, data entry, and resolve open issues through to closure

Required Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills 
  • Comfortable navigating file and folder structures
  • Understanding of order processing and BOM hierarchy
  • Ability to multitask and interface across departments
  • Strong problem solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience with PLM, SAP, Enovia, or comparable ERP/PLM systems
  • Knowledge of Product Breakdown Structure (PBS) and multilevel BOM structuring
  • Familiarity with spare parts spreadsheets and internal SOPs
  • Automotive industry experience
  • Mechanical design background — NX, AutoCAD, or CATIA experience a plus
  • Mechanically inclined with an aptitude for understanding engineered products

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 2–4 years of equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
