What you'll do:
  • Reviews daily schedule
  • Advises truckers of loads to pick up including type and amount of product and advises truckers of payment pickup information if required
  • (May be required to provide directions using maps and utilizing Spanish translator if needed.)
  • Answers phone assists drivers as needed and takes customer orders from Sales
  • Operates scale to weigh incoming and outgoing trucks
  • Records appropriate information on tickets for each truck including customer, job, and weight of deliveries
  • Ensures all required deliveries to customers/jobs are met, including notifying supervisor if more trucks or deliveries will be required to meet customer requirements
  • Accepts checks or cash payments and records accordingly, to be turned over to Accounts Receivable
  • Contacts customers to verify readiness to accept loads of materials, and keeps customer informed of loads being delivered
  • Provides customer information as required, answering basic questions regarding type, quality, quantity and timeliness of deliveries. May forward customers to sales department for further assistance if needed
  • Generates daily, weekly and monthly reports of activity
  • Compiles daily reports including Dispatch Report and Customer Summary Report of pickups and deliveries of crushed concrete materials
  • Records petty cash receipts and disbursements, completes and logs all sales receipts, and submits to accounts payable for reimbursement of petty cash account
  • Ability to read maps and provide drivers with directions to customer locations
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

What you'll need:
  • Excellent verbal communications, reading and writing ability needed at a level to satisfactorily perform job duties
  • Able to communicate with other employees and supervisors
  • Perform office functions described as follows:
    • Basic computer skills required including excel spreadsheets
    • Basic math and 10-key adding machine skills
  • Three years of work experience with similar job duties or industry
  • Prior general office experience of at least one year, and ability to operate basic office machines including copier, fax, and adding machine
  • Ability to read maps and provide drivers with directions to customer locations
  • Ability to speak and understand Spanish is a plus

Working Conditions:
  • Able to stand for several hours per day and work for long periods without a break
  • Able to work in dusty, noisy environment
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs.; bend and stoop to file or retrieve records and stock supplies
