Job description

ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
As a member of the critical infrastructure team, you will help design, build, activate and maintain some of the world's most technically advanced manufacturing facilities. You will be able to operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, excel at managing multiple projects at a time and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Supervisor, you will lead a team of technicians and be the extreme owner of all infrastructure work. The Electrical Supervisor is an important role and directly impacts the foundation of the Hawthorne site. This position will help to ensure that we keep facility maintenance costs low, vendors competitive and efficient, and find better ways to enhance our image to customers, visitors, and VIPs. Our facility care is a direct reflection of our values, and the impact is immense.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead, coordinate and supervise a team responsible for facilities electrical construction and maintenance at the SpaceX Hawthorne Production Facilities; dedicated to ensuring zero unplanned interruptions in services to the employees and customers.
  • Coordinate electrical projects to ensure vendors meet SpaceX, and local standards while delivering promised services, materials, and craftsmanship.
  • Plan and direct electrical construction and maintenance activities of internal technicians as well as all involved subcontractors for each phase of construction.
  • Enforce contract expectations from subcontractors and communication of any discrepancies.
  • Maintain a safe work site by implementing safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits, observing OSHA requirements and any applicable agencies' regulations.
  • Develop and administer an effective and efficient electrical preventative maintenance program.
  • Track facilities service requests with applicable systems and complete requests within established timelines and quality specifications.
  • Oversee team of Facilities technicians, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 5+ years of supervisory and/or electrical experience in an industrial electrical maintenance setting.
  • Experience maintaining/troubleshooting plant electrical distribution systems including 3-phase motor controls and 480V AC systems.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Hold a valid Certified General Electrician certificate issued by the State of California and/or a C-10 Electrical Contractor License.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and calculations. Ability to mark up and highlight coordination items.
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment; keep projects on time, deal with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and work with a diverse array of contacts.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite tools and PDF editor software such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat.
  • Understanding of job-related hazards in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical safe work practices - NFPA 70-E Electrical Safety Standard.
  • Ability to analyze and repair components using conventional and digital multimeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory and the ability to execute equipment load studies and power quality measures.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, HMI systems, and various AC drives.
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance for panels, switchgear, and emergency lighting.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support of all critical activities and emergency situations.
  • This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA area.
  • Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to stand, crawl, stoop, and push or lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when needed.

COMPETITION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Supervisor, Electrical: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees accrue paid sick leave pursuant to Company policy which satisfies or exceeds the accrual, carryover, and use requirements of the law.
