Job description

RAM Aviation, Space & Defense is a leader in aerospace innovation, powering flight and space exploration with precision solenoids, valves, and actuators. Since 1975, we've supported missions like the Space Shuttle and continue to deliver mission-critical components for commercial, defense, and satellite systems. As one of Southern Utah's largest employers, we drive economic growth and offer high-skilled careers in engineering and manufacturing. From our advanced facility in St. George, we build the future of aerospace-on time, with excellence, and as a team. Join us to work on groundbreaking technology and help shape the future of flight and space exploration. Your career takes off here!
As a Materials Associate, you are the meticulous gatekeeper of our physical inventory. Working under the direction of the Materials Supervisor, you are responsible for the safe and accurate flow of all purchased and produced materials throughout our facility. You will receive raw materials, route components to the CNC machine shop, perform critical cycle counts, and expertly package delicate, mission-critical flight hardware for final shipment. If you are highly organized, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in knowing that everything is exactly where it belongs, we want you to be the logistical foundation of our team.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receiving & Verification: Receive, unpack, and verify all incoming merchandise and raw materials. You will meticulously examine contents and compare them against manifests, invoices, or purchase orders to ensure absolute accuracy before materials enter the facility.
  • Inventory Control & Cycle Counting: Maintain an exceptionally high standard of inventory organization. You will be responsible for executing regular cycle counting activities to assure inventory levels are 100% accurate in the system.
  • Production Routing & Support: Act as the physical link between departments. You will interface directly with Production and Inspection to adhere to the schedule, delivering and routing materials, raw stock, and sub-assemblies to various work cells as needed.
  • Shipping & Outbound Logistics: Protect our finished aerospace components. You will determine the best shipping methods, pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for safe transit. You will also record shipment data (weight, charges, damages) and requisition shipping supplies to maintain stockroom inventory.
  • System Data Entry: Perform consistent, accurate data entry. You will utilize our computer systems to stock and distribute materials digitally, preparing necessary documents such as internal work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.

Pay: $18.50/hr, raise to $19.00/hr after 90 days. Shift: 6am to 3:30pm with every other Friday off.
Requirements
  • Legal: Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
  • ITAR: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum (due to ITAR requirements).
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
  • Math & Computer Skills: Solid foundational math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and accurately for cycle counts). Must have a working knowledge of computers and the ability to learn inventory data entry systems.
  • Soft Skills: Extreme attention to detail. You must be able to multitask, work effectively under pressure to meet shipping deadlines, and communicate clearly (both verbally and in writing) across multiple departments. Ability to read and interpret complex shipping documents and work orders is required.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to frequently sit, stand, and actively move around the stockroom and production floor. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 20 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs safely. Must possess the manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small parts, packaging materials, and computer equipment frequently.
