Located at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, The Spa at Torrey Pines is a destination for quality spa treatments, luxury amenities, and exceptional service. The 9,500-square-foot space features 14 treatment rooms and spa services inspired by its natural surroundings of the Pacific Ocean and the indigenous plant life of the treasured Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.
The Lodge at Torrey Pines is owned by Evans Hotels, LLC, a family-owned and operated business committed to supporting and enhancing employee well-being through a variety of programs that nurture our staff professionally and personally. SUMMARY
The Assistant Spa Manager ("Subgerente de Spa") assists the Spa Director and Manager in managing the quality and profitability of the Spa Department. Leads and develops the spa team to ensure the highest levels of professionalism, personalized guest service, operational excellence, and treatment quality while supporting the luxury standards of the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide personalized guest and member service by responding promptly to inquiries, concerns, and feedback while anticipating individual needs and preferences.
  • Train and supervise the spa staff on company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assist the Spa leadership team with scheduling, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing associates.

  • Maintain knowledge of spa services, treatment modalities, and industry trends to support associates, enhance guest experiences, and improve spa operations.
  • Develop and coordinate outdoor spa related activities.
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments to ensure a seamless business operation.
  • Assist the Spa leadership team with scheduling, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing associates.
  • Manage the spa reservation system to maximize scheduling efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and control costs.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance throughout the spa and related facilities
  • Must be able to listen and respond to guest complaints, verbally and in writing.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two-year associates degree, trade school degree, professional certification or any equivalent.
  • At least 2 years related experience and/or training
  • A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
  • Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
  • Experience running shifts, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, guest servicing and running day-to-day operations.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Experience with Book4Time or similar spa management and reservation systems is a plus.
  • Maintain current credentials and licenses as required by city, county, and state regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to exemplify and always lead with a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
