Job description

Position Summary:
The Spa Manager directs the daily operations of Spa at Thunder Valley. The Spa Manager will also assist in the development and implementation of marketing and business plans related to Spa operations, including the Pool and Fitness Center. Day-to-day leadership ensures that Team Members provide "Four Diamond" service standards to hotel Guests. Responsible for the supervision and development of Spa Team Members. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort's "ELITE" company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
2. Collaborate with the Vice President and Director of Hotel Operations to develop and implement plans to ensure the Spa establishes and maintains "AAA Four Diamond" standards.
3. Manage day-to-day Spa operations in accordance with established budgetary objectives set by executive management.
4. Design, build, and maintain Spa's menu of services and products, including development of Guest specials and packages.
5. Motivate and lead a high-performance Spa management team. Attract, recruit and retain members of the Spa's management team, providing mentoring to subordinates that enhances career development opportunities.
6. Delegate work assignments appropriately and give authority to Team Members to work independently. Set expectations and monitor delegated activities.
7. Coach and develop Team Members to achieve expected goals by maintaining a consistent approachable demeanor and articulating department expectations.
8. Be available to Team Members, provide regular performance feedback and develop Team Members' skills.
9. Monitor inventory levels at Spa to ensure cost-effective, profitable operations in line with operating budgeted guidelines.
10. Provide guidance and oversight to Supervisors and Team Members to create store displays which optimize space and placement of goods in order to maximize sales. Ensure supply of goods offered keeps up with fluctuating demand and trends.
11. Analyze operating and financial statements to ensure cost-of-sales (COS) are in line with profitability ratios and budget.
12. Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities. Determine if sales promotions or mark downs are needed to stimulate sales, and make adjustment to promotional calendar.
13. Responsible for shopping of local competitors to make necessary adjustments or additions to pricing and product offerings.
14. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops. Review professional publications, establish personal networks, participate in professional societies, and attend trade shows.
15. Identify current and future trends that appeal to consumers.
16. Be responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company by implementing security systems and measures to control loss.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Three (3) years of spa management experience.
2. One (1) year of spa retail purchasing and merchandising.
3. Possess analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
4. Ability to develop realistic action plans and prioritize work activities accordingly.
5. Must understand how to create and interpret a business plan.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
7. Must be at least 21 years of age.
8. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
3. Must be able to sit or stand for the duration of shift.
4. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
