What is spa compensation?

Spa compensation refers to the salary, wages, commissions, and benefits provided to employees working in spa environments, such as massage therapists, aestheticians, and front desk staff. Compensation structures can vary widely depending on the type of spa, location, and specific job role. Many spas use a combination of hourly pay, service commissions, product sales commissions, and tips. Understanding spa compensation is important for both employers and employees to ensure fair pay and compliance with labor laws.

How does a Spa Compensation specialist collaborate with management and staff to ensure fair and motivating pay structures?

A Spa Compensation specialist works closely with spa managers and HR teams to develop and review compensation packages that attract and retain talented employees. This involves market research, analyzing pay trends, and adjusting salary scales to remain competitive while aligning with the spa's budget and goals. Regular meetings with department heads help ensure that pay structures are consistent and performance incentives are motivating and achievable. Open communication with staff is also key, as it helps address concerns and foster a transparent workplace environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Spa Compensation specialist, and why are they important?

To excel as a Spa Compensation Specialist, you need a background in human resources or finance, strong analytical skills, and often a relevant degree or certification in compensation or HR management. Familiarity with HRIS systems, payroll software, and compensation benchmarking tools is typically required. Outstanding attention to detail, discretion, and effective communication help ensure accurate compensation analysis and collaboration with spa management. These competencies are crucial for designing fair, competitive pay structures that attract and retain top talent while supporting spa business goals.

Job description

Sales Manager – Business Travel

The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa + Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel | Mobile, Alabama

Build Relationships. Grow Accounts. Drive Business.

Join the Sales team representing The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa and Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel, two distinctive full-service Marriott properties in downtown Mobile.

We're looking for a results-driven hospitality sales professional to grow the business travel and transient market segment across both hotels. This role is focused on identifying new business opportunities, developing and strengthening corporate accounts, building relationships with key decision-makers, and positioning our hotels as preferred choices for business travelers coming to the Mobile market.

If you enjoy prospecting, developing accounts, negotiating business, and turning relationships into measurable revenue, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact across two established full-service hotels.

What You'll Do

  • Develop business travel accounts by proactively identifying, qualifying, soliciting, and securing new corporate and transient business opportunities.
  • Grow existing client relationships by understanding account needs, identifying additional opportunities, and building long-term relationships that generate repeat business.
  • Negotiate and close business using strong selling and negotiation skills to develop agreements that meet client needs while supporting hotel revenue goals.
  • Understand the market and competition by staying informed about competitors, economic trends, supply and demand, and potential sources of business within the Mobile market.
  • Represent both hotels in the marketplace through proactive sales activity, client meetings, site inspections, community involvement, and relationship development.
  • Partner with hotel teams to ensure client expectations are communicated effectively and business is positioned to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven hospitality sales experience, ideally involving business travel, corporate accounts, or transient hotel sales.
  • A demonstrated ability to prospect for new business, develop accounts, build client relationships, and contribute to revenue goals.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A results-oriented mindset with the ability to understand market opportunities and convert them into business.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities effectively.

Why Join Us?

This isn't simply an opportunity to manage an existing book of business. You'll have the opportunity to actively develop the business travel segment while representing two distinctive full-service Marriott hotels in downtown Mobile.

As part of PCH Hotels & Resorts, you'll join a hospitality organization focused on exceptional guest experiences, strong teams, professional growth, and creating an environment where talented hospitality professionals can build their careers.

Our compensation and benefits package includes:

  • Base salary + performance based incentives and annual bonus potential
  • Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, including FSA and HSA options
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Worldwide Marriott discounts, and additional Food & Beverage discounts across all PCH properties.
  • Career growth and development opportunities

If you're a hospitality sales professional who enjoys finding new business, developing corporate relationships, and turning opportunities into long-term accounts, we'd like to hear from you.
