We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Piping Designer to join our engineering team. This role is critical in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective piping designs for industrial facilities in the Petro chemical sector. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, advanced CAD skills, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and revise piping designs using 2D and 3D CAD tools (e.g., MicroStation, SmartPlant 3D).
• Prepare piping layouts, isometric drawings, bills of materials, and support details.
• Interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, and engineering drawings accurately.
• Coordinate with engineers and designers to maintain design consistency and compliance.
• Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Participate in model reviews, providing input to improve constructability and maintainability.
• Provide solutions to complex design challenges and review work produced by other designers.
• Act as a resource for projects and construction teams, assisting with field issue resolution. Coach and mentor less experienced designers as needed.
Qualifications
• Education: Associate degree or technical diploma in drafting/design OR High School diploma with 3-5 years of piping design experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software SmartPlant 3D/SP3D and Microsoft office tools (word, excel, outlook, ect.) required.
• Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and fabrication methods.
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, API, and other relevant codes and standards.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with laser scanning and point cloud integration.
• Knowledge of pipe stress analysis and support design.
• Understanding of project lifecycle and construction practices.
