Commercial Loan Officer

Metro Bank

Southside Branch

Southside, Alabama

Metro Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Loan Officer to guide our clients through the loan process.

Responsibilities will include meeting with applicants, preparing loan proposals, and examining active loans.

You will also be tasked with making sure the loan agreements are following federal and state regulations.

The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, has excellent analytical skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate creditworthiness and eligibility for obtaining loans.
  • Maintain an existing loan portfolio of commercial and consumer loans.
  • Develop commercial business in the market area.
  • Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications.
  • Review active loans and loan applications to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Manage and update loan records and send to loan processing for verification.
  • Explain to customers the diverse types of loans and credit options that are available.
  • Approve loans withing specified limits and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as both a Commercial and Consumer Lending Officer
  • Understanding of lending procedures and customer service experience
  • Strong understanding of banking laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • BS degree in finance, economics, or related field
