Job description

Summary

Excell Refrigeration is looking forRefrigeration/HVAC Technicians to join our commercial service team. We are seeking skilled technicians who can confidently diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems while providing excellent service to our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Service and repair commercial ice machines.
  • Service compressors, evaporators, condensers, motors, valves, controls, and other refrigeration components.
  • Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including packaged units and split systems up to approximately 20 tons.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, heating, and cooling issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, leak detection, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging.
  • Identify equipment failures and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement.
  • Complete service calls efficiently and accurately document work performed.
  • Communicate repair needs and equipment conditions with customers, dispatch, and management.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and properly stocked company service vehicle.
  • Follow company and industry safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of refrigeration/HVAC experience
  • Strong commercial refrigeration and HVAC troubleshooting skills
  • EPA Section 608 Certification
  • Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment schematics
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage service calls effectively
  • Professional, dependable, and customer-focused

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and safely access commercial rooftops and equipment.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in confined spaces.
  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, rain, humidity, coolers, freezers, mechanical rooms, and rooftop environments.
  • Must be able to safely use HVAC/R tools, equipment, and required PPE.
  • Schedule may include overtime, weekends, and participation in an on-call rotation based on customer needs.
