Job description

Carrier Success Specialist

Flock Freight is a FreightTech company that uses patented technology to move freight more efficiently, reliably, and sustainably. The company's guaranteed terminal-free truckload service, FlockDirect, finds the best options to pool freight among billions of possible combinations, optimizing routes while finding and filling trucks' empty spaces. Shipments stay safe in a single truck, driven by a single driver, all the way to their destination allowing shippers to only pay for the space they need and enabling carriers to earn more from every linear foot of capacity โ€” all while slashing carbon emissions by up to 40% compared to traditional shipping methods.

Flock Freight has been a Certified B Corp since 2020, meeting high social, environmental, transparency, and accountability standards to all of our stakeholders.

About The Role

As a Carrier Success Specialist at Flock Freight, you will help grow and manage our carrier network while ensuring freight moves successfully through our platform. This role is ideal for someone who is competitive, relationship-driven, and energized by fast-paced execution.

You will engage and onboard new carrier partners through outbound outreach, build trusted carrier relationships, and source capacity to solve coverage needs in real time. You will also partner closely with Customer Success, Tracking, and Operations to deliver a high-quality experience throughout the shipment lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings strong sales and negotiation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently hitting performance goals. If you are motivated by results and excited to help modernize the freight industry, this role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact.

Core Responsibilities
  • Build, manage, and grow a book of carrier partners by identifying, engaging, and onboarding new carriers through outbound calls, emails, and strategic outreach.
  • Own daily freight execution with a higher level of independence, ensuring customer shipments are covered, serviced, and tracked successfully through Flock's platform.
  • Develop strong, trusted carrier relationships through consistent and strategic communication that drives long-term engagement, reliability, and platform adoption.
  • Apply strong sales, negotiation, and market knowledge to optimize carrier utilization and deliver strong economic outcomes.
  • Proactively source capacity and solve coverage challenges in real time, using sound judgment in a fast-moving environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Tracking, and Operations teams to deliver a high-quality experience for both carriers and customers.
  • Maintain accurate carrier and capacity data in Flock's systems to support real-time coverage, execution, and decision-making.
  • Monitor shipments, carrier performance, and team metrics, proactively identifying issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Consistently hit or exceed performance goals, including activity, coverage, and revenue-related metrics set by the Carrier Success leadership team.
  • Leverage Flock Freight's digital platform and pooling technology to create differentiated value for carrier partners and support long-term network growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 4+ years of carrier sales experience required
  • Experience in brokerage, transportation, logistics, or another carrier-facing sales environment strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed activity, coverage, and revenue goals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident decision-maker with strong negotiation and problem-solving instincts
  • Strong work ethic, sound judgment, and the ability to operate with increasing independence

Compensation The base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 per year + Commission. This reflects typical earning potential in this role based on market data and individual factors including skill sets, experience, and geographic location. In addition to salary, full-time employees are eligible for an equity package and competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Flock Freight.

Life & Benefits Of The Flock

  • Hybrid Work Model: As an organization we value in-office collaboration, working cross-functionally, and winning together. Through scheduled in-office and work from home days, we are able to work more efficiently and collaboratively.
  • 401(k): We know Flock may just be a stepping stone in your epic journey, but we want to be sure you're setting your future self up for success!
  • Medical, Dental & Vision: Generous coverage for employees and dependents. Both HMO and PPO options provided.

Our Promise To You Flock Freight is committed to creating an environment that's fair and inclusive. We fill our open positions based on qualifications, merit, and business needs. We value the skills of people from all backgrounds and are proud to hire, promote, and retain talent from a diverse candidate pool. Diverse perspectives are central to innovation at Flock Freight and make our team better. We're interested in your inherent abilities, not just the skills you bring from your last role - if you think you have what it takes to succeed in the role but don't check every box, please still get in touch. We'd love to start a conversation with you.
