Job Description Summary
This Engineering role is for an Advanced Military Engine program as an Externals Design Engineer. This includes activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. May include activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There are GE Aerospace developed design practices and procedures which need to be followed in this position to ensure a quality product.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance.

Desired Characteristics
  • 2 years of engineering experience (inclusive of internships/co-ops)
  • Externals Design engineering experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in design and analysis tools, such as Unigraphics/NX, ANSYS classic.
  • Experience and familiarity with GD&T principles and reading drawings.
