This team member will be instrumental in developing and applying quality management system best practices to ensure that our materials, components, manufacturing techniques, and standard operating procedures produce high-quality, reliable products that exceed our customers’ expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and mentoring responsibility for promoting and implementing best in class quality management systems, manufacturing processes, statistical techniques, and supporting software solutions.
  • Develop and refine processes and technologies encompassing safety, cost, quality, productivity, and risk mitigation.
  • Develops and implements methods for sampling, inspection, defect recognition, product testing and evaluation, and statistical process control trending utilizing statistical, engineering and quality knowledge.
  • Support the timely handling of investigations, risk assessments, deviations, dispositions, and generation of non-conformance material reports and corrective action plans.
  • Receiving and working in process inspection of production and prototype parts.
  • Assists with product and process risk assessment activities, including process failure modes & effects analysis.
  • Participates in product process qualification and evaluation activities not limited to but including contract compliance, first article, engineering studies, assembly process, gage repeatability and calibration, regression analysis, statistical process control, and design of experiments.
  • Ensure the successful integration of quality assurance, risk mitigation, and compliance into design, development, and manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Participates in design control and evaluates changes to design and/or manufacturing process for impact to inventory and supply chain.
  • Leads and executes activities to close any gaps, such as additional verification testing or updates to technical data package documentation.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing training programs for personnel to ensure proper execution at the floor level of all quality protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, plug/ring gauges, thread gauges, micrometers, etc.
  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field is required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality engineering role in an ISO 9001 certified environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity suite and data analysis software.
  • High level of competence in statistical techniques, control charts, sampling plans, quality costs, design of experiments, correlation, regression, analysis of variance, probability, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within various disciplines, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working cross-functionally with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and provide technical, statistical, and quality guidance throughout the organization and with vendors to ensure high quality, compliant products.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with suppressor or firearm industry design, machining, DMLS 3-d printing, metal coatings, LEAN & 6-sigma, metallurgy, threads, jig/fixture design, and ITAR/ATF compliance.
  • 5+ years' experience in a quality engineering role in an ISO 9001 certified, high volume, production environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to drive projects from concept to completion, including validation testing and budget management.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and disciplined problem-solving skills, including sound statistical analysis and process control methodology.
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with SAP Quality Management and SolidWorks PDM software.
  • Experience with managing DCMA audits and ensuring compliance with DCMA requirements.

Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 per year and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
