About This Position

ChristianaCare is searching for an Employee Relations Specialist to beresponsible for fostering a positive and productive work environment by providing guidance and support to employees and managers on a wide range of employee relations matters. This role involves managing employee grievances, conducting investigations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting fair and consistent workplace practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of employment law.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Employee Relations Management:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns related to workplace policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Mediate and resolve employee disputes and grievances in a fair and impartial manner.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee morale and engagement.
  • Leadership engagement
  • Collaborates with operational management to achieve Christiana Care business objectives such as change leadership, retention initiatives, improving employee engagement
Investigations and Compliance:
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Conduct exit interviews, and analyze the data for trends and improvement opportunities.
Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Develop, revise, and communicate employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Interpret Christiana policies
  • Provide training to managers and employees on employee relations best practices and legal requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in employment law and best practices.
Performance Management Support:
  • Assist managers with performance improvement plans, and progressive disciplinary actions.
  • Provide guidance on performance evaluations, and feedback delivery.
HR Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other HR team members to ensure consistency and alignment in HR practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives and programs.
  • Assist with HR projects as needed.

  • Tracks key metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Minimum education and experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or higher required.
  • 2 years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
Annual Compensation Range $73,611.20 - $117,790.40This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
