POSITION SCOPE:The Mary Campbell Center is first, last, and always, home to 68 residents. The Housekeeper is responsible with a high degree of quality in a truly homelike environment in which MCC residents live with respect, personal dignity, and independence to the fullness of their abilities. The housekeeper will work reliably, effectively, efficiently, and with respect for residents, staff, families, volunteers, professional consultants, and the physical environment of The Center, while adhering to the MCC Guiding Principles and Mission.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:The Housekeeper at the Mary Campbell Center must 1) be a good person of high character who consistently works with a positive attitude and demonstrates compassion and understanding for residents with varying degrees of disability, and 2) The Housekeeper must have the ability to work independently with moderate supervision. Must have the ability to effectively work on multiple tasks simultaneously and work an assigned schedule, attention to details. In addition, he/she should have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Must have previous leadership experience in housekeeping and laundry, verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in utilizing technology tools to manage program reporting and achieve department goals. Previous successful experience working with those with disabilities and/or in a rehabilitative setting is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Attends all departmental meetings and communicates effectively with team members.
- Maintains schedule for housekeeping and laundry as requested.
- Works as a housekeeper or in laundry during each shift.
- Maintain excellent resident and staff relationships.
- Handles laundry management, including washing, drying, sorting/folding clothes, etc.
- Follow policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:- Cleaning breakrooms, kitchens and bathrooms
- Making beds
- Vacuuming and dusting
- Picking up rubbish and moving it to designated areas
- Notifying managers of necessary repairs.
- Collecting and disposing of trash.
- Ability to manage your time efficiently.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with residents.
- Completes all mandatory Relias and in-person training.
- Collaborates with other housekeepers as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
