Job description

Warehouse Associate

The Warehouse Associate supports the movement, organization, and handling of materials throughout the warehouse. This role is essential to maintaining an efficient and accurate flow of parts, with a focus on order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and timely support to production. This role has three levels (Tier 1–3) based on experience, responsibility, and performance.

Pay range: $23.00 - $28.00 hour depending on experience.

Hours: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM - M-F

Key Responsibilities

Tier 1 – Entry-Level Warehouse Associate Responsibilities - $23 - $24

  • Assist in pulling parts based on printed order tickets with guidance to ensure accuracy.
  • Stock shelves and storage areas by placing labeled inventory in assigned locations.
  • Help with sorting and returning production returns under supervision.
  • Use basic material handling tools (e.g., pallet jacks); forklift operation may be trained later.
  • Support general warehouse upkeep and organization efforts.
  • Work under the direction of senior team members or leads to support part flow.
  • Report visible damages or issues to a team lead or Inventory staff promptly.
  • May occasionally assist at both KPSM and KP&C facilities as directed.
  • Follow all safety rules and basic procedures during daily tasks.
  • Keep personal work area and shared spaces clean and orderly.

Tier 2 – Standard-Level Warehouse Associate Responsibilities - $25 - $27

  • Pull parts accurately and efficiently based on printed or digital order tickets.
  • Stock shelves and storage locations by placing received inventory in designated areas.
  • Process production returns by identifying, sorting, and returning items to appropriate storage.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to transport items safely within the warehouse.
  • Participate in warehouse improvement projects (e.g., reorganizing inventory, improving labeling, supporting 5S initiatives).
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments (Inventory, Production) to ensure accurate part flow.
  • Communicate any discrepancies or damages to Inventory or Purchasing.
  • Perform work at either facility (KPSM and KP&C <1 mile apart)
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including shelves, aisles, and work areas.

Tier 3 – Advanced-Level Warehouse Associate Responsibilities - $27 - $28

  • All tier 2 responsibilities
  • Lead by example in warehouse operations and safety practices.
  • Train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 associates.
  • Perform advanced inventory actions such as reconciling discrepancies and root cause analysis.
  • Support inventory audits and cycle counts with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate with Inventory, Production, and Shipping Leads for daily task alignment.
  • Operate as primary point of contact during supervisor absence.
  • Recommend process improvements or layout changes for better efficiency.
  • May assist in scheduling or prioritizing daily workflow.

Qualifications:

· 0–2 years of experience in a warehouse setting.

· High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

· Willingness to learn and grow in a warehouse setting.

· Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· 2+ years of experience in a material handling, warehouse associate, shipping, or receiving role.

· Valid forklift and/or pallet jack certification (or willingness to obtain).

· Proven ERP/WMS system proficiency.
