Securities Associate

How does the role impact the organization?

This position requires an ability to work in a high-volume, pressure-oriented environment. Inherent system deadlines require the successful candidate to possess very strong organizational and prioritization skills. Additionally, the ability to balance these significant challenges and interact well with others is essential.

What will your role be responsible for?

• Manage the receipt, sorting, distribution, and processing of incoming and outgoing mail and courier deliveries, ensuring efficient mailroom operations and support services;
• Make local deliveries in the Downtown area;
• Make daily deposit runs to the bank;
• Certify cheques;
• Record and Validate certificates received to Securities Cage for Filing;
• Delivery and retrieval of certificates internally and offsite;
• Sorting and mailing of Prospectus and trade confirmations;
• Internal distribution of Corporate mailings including Proxy and Information Circulars;  
• Enter data for incoming EFTs; 
• Back-up for Securities Cage Associates in times of high volume and vacation coverage;
• Participate in department initiatives and projects; and
• Other duties as assigned.

What do we expect from you?

• Industry or related experience,
• Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications. Organization, time management, analytical thinking and problem solving as well as accurate and efficient data entry
• Demonstrate advanced face-to-face, email, videoconferencing, and telephone etiquette and relationship management skills;
• Work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail;
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment;
• Demonstrate a professional manner to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization;
• Exercise tact and discretion in the handling of confidential information; and
• Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry is an asset
• Communicate proficiently in French is an asset.
• Experience with industry related systems is an asset.

Salary Range: $50,000 - 60,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.

Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and other job requirements.
