Job description

Description
Shipping and Receiving person verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares outgoing shipments to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, check in and put away inbound stock-orders daily.  Receipt the orders in CDK Assign BIN locations to all incoming parts including Service special order parts
  • Inspect incoming freight for loss or damage. File claims for any loss or damage and maintain records of the claims filed
  • Maintain neat and orderly bin’s and notify service when special order parts have arrived
  • Assist in pulling part orders and provide general assistance in filling orders  
  • Help dispatch the delivery drivers and deliver parts directly to Service employees in service bays 
  • Drive company truck when required to deliver or pick up parts
  • Maintain a neat and orderly warehouse with emphasis on keeping the isles clear of parts and trash  
  • Insure all parts are properly stored with appropriate bin locations entered into CDK
  • Oversee the area outside the shipping door to keep it clear of trash, boxes and pallets
  • Be responsible for parts left in the warehouse by others and make sure they are routed to the appropriate location 
  • Perform BIN checks on a regular basis with goal of checking one bin per day
  • Sort and distribute inbound UPS, Fed-Ex to the appropriate departments 
  • Assist is packing, labeling and shipping outbound freight  
  • Maintain files to properly document inbound and outbound freight  
  • Sort, pack, ship and file proper paperwork for cores.  
  • Assist in shipping warranty return parts and providing proper documents to the warranty department
  • Pull, clean, pack and ship part returns to Navistar or any other supplier as directed  
  • Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of accurate inventory records
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year experience in a dealership or warehouse environment is preferred 
  • A valid Driver’s license with good driving record is required 
  • This is a physically demanding position - Will stand 6-9 hours per day, at times the position may require overtime as work levels require
  • Ability to properly lift parts weighing up to 105 pounds several times during a shift 
  • Will bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. Be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials 
  • May be required to work on a mezzanine level  
  • Must be able to perform duties safely and efficiently in this work area
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Must be certified in forklift operation
  • Able to effectively use computer system for parts department record keeping
