Position Title: Manufacturing Training & Workforce Development Lead
Location: St. Charles, MO
The Manufacturing Training & Workforce Development Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining training programs that enhance employee capability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a high level of initiative, accountability, and collaboration across departments to support workforce development, safety, and organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Workforce Development
  • Design and implement comprehensive manufacturing training programs, including onboarding, skill development, cross-training, and leadership development.
  • Partner with department leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify training needs and develop role-specific learning solutions.
  • Create and maintain SOP-based training materials that support safety, quality, productivity, and operational consistency.
  • Establish training metrics, accountability measures, and continuous improvement processes to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and leaders to ensure training initiatives align with operational goals.

Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies while reinforcing a culture of workplace safety.
  • Partner with Continuous Improvement and Operations leaders to integrate training into process improvements, standard work, and change initiatives.
  • Translate continuous improvement efforts into sustainable training programs that support long-term operational success.

Manufacturing Engagement & Collaboration
  • Maintain a regular presence on the production floor to understand workflows, identify skill gaps, and support employee development.
  • Develop and deliver hands-on training related to manufacturing processes, safety practices, equipment operation, quality standards, and skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and paint.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and other departments to support workforce capability and organizational objectives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or technical certification in Training & Development, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in training, workforce development, employee education, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, fabrication, or custom assembly environments.
  • Strong facilitation, instructional design, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment with limited structure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience utilizing ERP and/or Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • OSHA or related safety certifications preferred.
  • Ability to travel occasionally between facilities.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout production areas.
  • Ability to occasionally lift materials and perform physical activities such as bending and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity required for computer use and training activities.
  • Ability to meet visual and hearing requirements necessary to safely perform job duties in a manufacturing setting.
