Sonar Electrical Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
Develop electronic systems and components to use within equipment or machinery and support other engineers to perform tasks when necessary. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision, and mentor or supervise employees in both company and technical competencies. Apply advanced knowledge to the completion of projects of major complexity. Maintain recognized standing through a combination of original contribution and positions of leadership. Plan, conduct, and direct research or development work on complex projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches.
You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience with acoustical and sonar engineering for sensing natural and man-made structures, objects, and architectures in marine environments
  • 7+ years of experience with the Navy, including in areas such as Undersea Warfare (USW) and Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW)
  • Experience in the development of underwater acoustic signal and information processing algorithms, techniques, and systems
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw
  • Ability to assess the impacts of differing sensor designs and sensor software processing on the ability to sense in a specific environment
  • Ability to convey complex technical and system constructs across an integrated science, engineering, and acquisition team
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM Field

Nice If You Have:
  • Ability to document and communicate findings in non-technical terms for non-scientists
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree in an Engineering, CS, or Physical Sciences field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
