Role Overview:
Provides strategic and technical leadership for the organization's server, virtual, network, and security infrastructure. This role is responsible for defining architecture standards, lifecycle management practices, and implementation strategies that ensure reliable, secure, and scalable systems. The position evaluates and deploys high-impact technology solutions, balancing long-term effectiveness, cost, and operational practicality while aligning with enterprise and headquarters directives. Acting as a subject matter expert, this role leads complex design initiatives, supports advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization, and mentors team members across multiple infrastructure disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Strategy & Design:
    Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of server, virtual, network, and security infrastructure, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, scalability requirements, and long-term operational efficiency.
  • System Administration & Operations:
    Oversee and perform advanced administration of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, VMware vSphere, and core services (DNS, DHCP, file/print), including monitoring, patching, performance tuning, and backup/recovery processes.
  • Security & Identity Management:
    Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure, including user account management, Azure AD synchronization, group policy configuration, authentication troubleshooting, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Optimization:
    Proactively monitor system and network performance, analyze traffic and system health metrics, and resolve complex issues across physical and virtual environments to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Project & Technical Leadership:
    Manage and deliver a portfolio of IT infrastructure projects from requirements through completion, while mentoring team members, supporting help desk operations, and driving continuous improvement through testing, innovation, and adoption of emerging technologies.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience: 7-10 years of hands-on experience administering and supporting Windows-based server environments in enterprise settings.
  • Core Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency with Windows Server technologies including Active Directory, Exchange, Intune, MECM/SCCM, and WSUS.
  • Virtualization Skills: Proven experience managing VMware vSphere and vCenter (version 5 or higher) in production environments.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Demonstrated ability to logically analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system and infrastructure issues.
  • Systems Testing & Quality: Ability to identify required data and effectively test system functionality to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Execution & Delivery: Track record of successfully managing tasks and delivering projects on time with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Microsoft Certifications: MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) in Server Infrastructure.

Salary range: $80,000 - $114,000
