Summary

Application & Design Engineer I with ENERVEX supports internal and external customers and serves as the subject matter expert in our products and systems. This role provides engineering support for customers and sales teams in a fast-paced environment, focusing on mechanical draft solutions, chimney design, custom parts, and heat recovery and plume abatement systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and support for ENERVEX Powerstack Chimney Systems
  • Work cross functionally to provide DFM custom part solutions 
  • Design and support ENERVEX mechanical draft systems 
  • Serve as SME for the heat recovery and plume abatement systems
  • Provide product specific training to internal and external stakeholders, including presentations to engineers, contractors, end users and sales representatives


Key Skills

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Expertise in designing sheet metal components, including knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes such as bending, cutting, punching, and forming
  • Proficiency with specialized sheet metal design tools and features in CAD software like SolidWorks, including the ability to create flat patterns, determine bend allowances, and ensure manufacturability and structural integrity of the designs
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as machining, forming, and welding
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and solve customer issues
  • High level of precision and attention to detail in design and documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, including R&D, Operations, and Sales
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information and concepts across the organization and to larger audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all aspects of work
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements and priorities
  • PC literate using Microsoft Office

  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-7 years of experience working with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM OR 7-12 years equivalent work experience and SolidWorks certification (preferred)
