Our 120,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Fitchburg, Massachusetts supports customers from concept through commercialization and high-volume production.


What You'll Do

As a Senior Injection Mold Maker, you will play a key role in ensuring our tooling is built, maintained, and optimized to support world-class manufacturing operations.


Responsibilities

  • Build, fit, assemble, and troubleshoot precision plastic injection molds.
  • Perform mold repairs, engineering changes, preventive maintenance, and mold refurbishments.
  • Diagnose tooling issues and implement corrective actions to improve mold performance and reliability.
  • Machine mold components using manual and CNC tool room equipment.
  • Operate mills, lathes, grinders, EDM equipment, and related tooling machinery.
  • Inspect mold components and verify critical dimensions to tight tolerances.
  • Assemble and test molds to ensure proper fit, function, cooling, and ejection performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, Maintenance, and Production teams to improve manufacturability and mold performance.
  • Assist with mold sampling, qualification, and production support activities.
  • Document repairs, modifications, inspections, and tooling improvements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and tooling reliability.

 

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Mold Maker experience in a plastic injection molding environment.
  • Proven experience building, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting injection molds.
  • Strong understanding of mold construction and mold function.
  • Experience working with:
    • Cores and cavities
    • Slides and lifters
    • Ejector systems
    • Cooling circuits
    • Mold actions and mechanisms
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD-generated prints.
  • Experience operating:
    • Manual and CNC milling machines
    • Lathes
    • Surface grinders
    • EDM equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Trade School certification or apprenticeship training.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience supporting medical device or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of mold design, manufacturability, and tooling optimization.
  • Experience working with tight-tolerance precision tooling.
