Mechanical Design Engineer — SolidWorks

Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried

Work Location: On-Site — No Remote Work

Salary Range: $100,000–$150,000 per year

U.S. Citizenship: Required

About the Position

We are seeking Mechanical Design Engineers at all experience levels to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on, on-site position with a strong emphasis on SolidWorks mechanical design.

We are open to candidates ranging from recent college graduates to highly experienced engineers. The most important qualification is demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks and the ability to apply sound mechanical engineering principles to real-world design problems.

A candidate does not need extensive professional experience to be successful in this role. Recent graduates with strong SolidWorks skills are encouraged to apply.

SolidWorks proficiency will be evaluated during the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components, assemblies, mechanisms, and systems using SolidWorks.
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies.
  • Create professional engineering drawings suitable for manufacturing.
  • Translate engineering requirements and concepts into practical mechanical designs.
  • Select materials, hardware, and appropriate manufacturing processes.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to design decisions.
  • Support prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation.
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to develop practical, manufacturable designs.
  • Review and improve existing mechanical designs.
  • Create and maintain BOMs and engineering documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Incorporate testing and manufacturing feedback into design revisions.
  • Assist with solving mechanical and electromechanical design problems.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Ability to create and modify 3D parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to produce and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering and design principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site.

Experience Level

All experience levels are encouraged to apply.

We will consider:

  • Recent college graduates with strong SolidWorks skills.
  • Early-career engineers.
  • Mid-level mechanical design engineers.
  • Senior mechanical engineers and designers.
  • Experienced engineers with extensive SolidWorks experience.

Professional experience is not a substitute for the required engineering degree, but the amount of professional experience will be considered when determining responsibilities and compensation within the position's range.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SolidWorks certification, including CSWA or CSWP.
  • Professional mechanical design experience.
  • Experience designing electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with robotics, motors, actuators, mechanisms, or automation.
  • Experience with machined, sheet-metal, fabricated, or 3D-printed components.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience with prototyping and product development.
  • Experience working directly with manufacturing or machine shops.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who is highly proficient in SolidWorks and enjoys mechanical design.

We value demonstrated ability and practical engineering skills. Whether you are a recent graduate who spent significant time developing your SolidWorks skills in school and personal projects, or an experienced engineer who has been designing mechanical systems for years, we want to hear from you.

Candidates should be comfortable taking a concept or engineering requirement and turning it into a complete, well-designed SolidWorks model and, when required, a production-ready engineering drawing.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. Remote work is not available.
