Join our San Francisco office and be a part of a global network of offices spanning five cities (New York, Bangkok, San Francisco, London, and Miami). ROLE DESCRIPTION

Intermediate level Furniture & Lighting Designers are contributing staff members to the core AvroKO design team under the leadership of the Director of Industrial Design. The candidate must be motivated and knowledgeable about the furniture and lighting design industry, with experience in various aspects of hands on fabrication. They will need to be incredibly organized and be able to manage multiple projects at once. We are looking for someone who works well within many teams and has the ability to take the lead when necessary; the ideal candidate is someone with a strong sense of personal aesthetic that is complementary with AvroKO's design ethos.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Design + Documentation + Delivery

  • Support studio teams in creating furniture and lighting designs, tasks include;
  • Detailed hand sketching for concept development
  • AI prompting for 3D designs & renderings
  • 3D modeling in Solidworks & Rhino
  • Rendering in Solidworks, V-Ray or Keyshot
  • Creating technical, design drawings
  • Image research, materials and furniture component sourcing etc.
  • Comprehensive file management
  • Maintaining project schedules
  • Attending regular internal/external meetings
  • Understanding and advising on budgets
  • Reviewing shop drawings
  • Working with fabricators to develop designs
  • General construction administration

Supporting AvroKO’s product division - HOST

  • Assisting our dedicated HOST staff in
  • Communication and visits with fabricators
  • Oversight of shop drawing management
  • Maintaining project schedules

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Furniture Design, or Industrial Design preferred
  • A minimum of at least five (5) years postgraduate experience at an architecture or interior design firm, hospitality design experience preferred
  • Fluency in Solidworks & Rhino required. Experience with Keyshot is a plus..
  • Fluency in all Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator) required.
  • Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Sketchup required to collaborate with interior designers and architects
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Fabrication experience is a plus
  • Must be legally able to work in the US
  • Must be available to join the team in 2-4 weeks
  • The base salary range will be estimated between $80,000-$100,000 plus benefits and contingent on relevant experience and abilities
