Job Description: Join our Team: HSE Site Lead Redmond, WA, Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Join our team at Terex/Genie and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated HSE Lead to contribute to the Redmond Operations team. As an HSE Lead at Terex/Genie, based in Redmond, WA, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing, improving and maintaining the Terex AWP health, safety and environmental programs. This individual is responsible for the day to day management of programs and activities related to injury and illness prevention; sustainability, conservation practices and compliance with local, federal and company requirements. The Site HSE Lead works with the management team to develop and monitor HSE improvement plans.

What youโ€™ll do:
  • Maintain Terex AWP Environmental programs and Safety programs such as spill prevention, storm water management, Air Permits, hazardous and solid waste management, energy conservation, exposure monitoring, ergonomics, behavior based safety, electrical safety and hazard communication.
  • Implement and track Road Map Implementation.
  • Inspect workplaces for the presences of health & safety hazards and environmental concerns.
  • Evaluate workplace. Make recommendations to control or eliminate unsafe conditions in the workplace, injuries and illnesses and environmental concerns or liabilities; prioritize issues.
  • Conduct safety and environmental training and education programs; demonstrate the use of safety and environmental equipment.
  • Assess training needs and monitor training completion.
  • Maintain inventories of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes, using waste tracking systems to ensure that materials are handled properly.
  • Maintain files such as hazardous waste databases, inspection logs, chemical usage data, exposure monitoring and diagrams showing equipment locations.
  • Gather data for annual or periodic reporting.
  • Investigate incidents to identify causes and to determine how such incidents might be prevented in the future.
  • Collect samples of gases, soils, water, and industrial wastewater, to conduct tests on pollutant levels and identify sources of pollution.
  • Collect samples of dust, gases, vapors, and other potentially toxic or hazardous materials for analysis; or arrange for sampling.
What youโ€™ll bring:
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations and agency rules related to worker health and safety and protection of the environment.
  • Knowledge of general chemistry including composition structure, properties of substances, chemical interactions, danger signs and disposal methods.
  • Understanding of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction of individuals and groups and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics and their applications.
  • Understand engineering data or reports, including laboratory reports.
  • Must be able to evaluate information to determine compliance with company policy.
  • Must be able to communicate with Team Members, Supervisors, Managers, Peers and Subordinates by phone, in written form, by email and in person.
  • Team Member must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Retention of documents and data are crucial. Documentation must be maintained in a well-organized method.
  • Position is primary contact for outside agency inspection or investigations related to workplace safety and environmental compliance depending on location (size and complexity of the operation).
  • May also act as emergency coordinator or backโ€‘up emergency coordinator.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal with attention to detail and diplomacy.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Office Suite products.

Physical Abilities: Long periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift 40 pounds occasionally, frequent lifting of 1-5 pounds.

Education and Experience: BA, BS or MS in occupational health, safety and/or environment science disciplines or high school graduate with equivalent work experience in these areas. 5-8 years with no formal education. No experience required with formal education (BA, BS, or MS within past 2 years). Must have education or training in environmental regulations and OSHT or equivalent education; course work in related areas can replace experience.

The Salary Range of this position is $76,000 - $114,000 annually.
