Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

SUMMARY

As part of the broader Logistics team, the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor verifies, documents and processes order shipments and keeps records on outgoing shipments. Working with the logistics team, this position will work with external vendors and internal resources to ensure timely and cost-efficient deliveries. This position will report directly to Logistics Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Secure carriers to deliver
• Stock shipments to FR warehouse from suppliers
• FR warehouse shipments to customers
• Ability to operate a fork truck
• Secure carriers within the freight budget
• Loading and unloading of all trucks
• Generating Shipping Documents (Bill of Ladings, Commercial Documentation, Packing Slips
• Export/Import Customs Declaration, Certificate of Origin etc.) as required.
• Ensure proper labels are on all materials in house
• Ensure all items are processed in Syspro system the day they are received or shipped
• Ensure put away of inbound shipments is competed timely
• Pull order pick list, pull parts, package parts and finally process shipment of orders
• Keep detailed records of shipments incoming and outgoing
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
• Maintain good relationships with Shipping Company Contacts (FedEx, freight/logistics

companies)

• Communicate with customers and assist with customer needs to include delivery schedule and updates
• Look for ways to improve the current process
• Operate within the Logistics team providing guidance to the warehouse team and coordinating
• with project Shipping coordinator
• Coordinate and communicate with project management team to ensure
• Change orders are applied for outgoing shipments
• Delivery schedules meet the customers’ expectations
• Shipments for stock are arranged
• Other job duties assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3 years of shipping and receiving experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Familiar with shipping products internationally
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

PHYSICAL DEMADS

• Move/Traverse: infrequently bend, stand, stoop and/or walk.
• Carry Weight: infrequently carry weight and/or lift objects (light to heavy) weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Hearing and Speech frequently communicate with the ability to hear and talk on a regular basis with employees, coworkers, and all personnel matters; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far.
• Climb: occasionally ascends/descends on stairway to get to office upper and lower floors.
• Travel: up to 10% if needed.

WORK ENVIROMENT

• Noise level ranges from moderate to high in manufacturing environment
• Noise level ranges from low to moderate while in office environment
