Job description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Lenexa, KS Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Work Model: Onsite Conversion Salary Range: $70,000 – $130,000 (flexible based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-level Electrical Engineer to join our team in Lenexa, KS. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong long-term potential. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical design, power systems, and engineering standards, along with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and the ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical design calculations to ensure systems meet global safety standards

  • Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products

  • Develop cost estimates for budgeting and project planning

  • Conduct coordination and arc flash studies (IR Level 1 & 2 preferred)

  • Create and review electrical drawings and models using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, SKM, and Trimble

  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and other applicable industry standards

  • Define customer requirements and ensure systems meet safety and performance standards

  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, technicians, programmers, and senior leadership

  • Support manufacturing process development aligned with engineering codes and standards

  • Perform quality assurance, system testing, and performance analysis

  • Analyze data trends to support product improvements and innovation

  • Assist with equipment evaluation, cost calculations, and budget preparation

  • Monitor maintenance and inspection plans to ensure long-term reliability

  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, quality, and customer service

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)

  • Experience ranging from entry-level to 7–10 years in electrical design

  • Experience in power systems, EV infrastructure, wind, or solar projects

  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and related electrical codes

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, SKM, and Trimble

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week

Preferred Experience

  • Arc flash and coordination study experience

  • Knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes

  • Experience working directly with cross-functional engineering and construction teams

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass background check, drug screening, and MVR review

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
