Our flagship product, the Ara Home Energy Station, is a wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EV's battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.


The opportunity


We're looking for a Residential Energy Specialist | L1 Site Surveyor to serve as the frontline technical validator of Ara installations at the customer's home by: Confirming installation feasibility, Educating homeowners on product and requirements, Collecting permitting and site data, Ensuring readiness for receipt of products.


Main responsibilities

  • Visit customer homes (multiple per day), assess installation readiness including electrical panel capacity, available space (indoor/outdoor), Ara system placement feasibility, solar / battery configuration (if applicable), and identify considerations early (panel upgrades, site constraints, etc.)
  • Clearly explain what an Ara installation involves, upgrades or changes that may be required, timeline and next steps, set realistic expectations to avoid post-sale friction. Note: This is not a sales role - focus is customer experience
  • Gather all site-specific inputs required for: permitting applications, utility interconnection. Document: photos (panel, meter, site layout), measurements and configurations, jurisdiction-specific permitting requirements
  • Upload structured site reports after each visit. Flag: ready-to-install homes, conditional approvals (with required upgrades), non-viable sites, ensure clean handoff to sales (if issues impacting conversion), operations / installers (for execution)


Key requirements

  • 2+ years of working experiencein customer sales or advisory roles,
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Ability and willingness to travel 100% of time
  • May be required to travel to other dcbel hubs for up to two weeks at a time. Must have compliant government issued ID for domestic air/ground travel.


Bonus skills

  • Bilingual French and English
  • Basic understanding of: Local permitting processes, Utility interconnection requirements
