Our flagship product, dcbel Ara, is a Home Energy Station that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and power their home, unlocking their EV's battery for blackout protection, backup power (V2H) and grid services (V2G), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, stationary battery and the grid.


The opportunity

dcbel is looking to hire a Field Engineer - Residential Energy to work in dcbel's Revenue Team. Successful candidates will play a pivotal role in enabling installer channel sales by accelerating the scale up of dcbel's installer network by having technical training directly in the field, all over Canada and US (East coast) wherever installer customers may be located.

Main responsibilities

  • Enable installer channel sales
  • Provide on-customer premise training of new installers during onboarding
  • Provide technical support during installer sales outreach
  • Provide ad hoc technical support during demonstrations and in other partner channels as required


Key requirements

  • Bachelors in Engineering from top tier universityor equivalent.
  • Demonstrable hands-on field experience supporting selling and installing of new/innovative product in the residential and/or energy and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and US electrical code
  • Working knowledge of power electronics;
  • Working knowledge of IoT communication protocols


Profile

  • Some knowledge of EV charging communication protocols (ISO 15118) and DER integration protocols (IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR) are a strong plus;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, result oriented and strong EQ.
