Job Summary

The IGS Solar Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar power systems. This role involves working directly with our clients to ensure their solar systems are functioning optimally and addressing any technical issues that arise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, a passion for renewable energy, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on solar systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Repair: Diagnose and resolve issues related to solar power systems, including electrical faults, panel malfunctions, and connectivity problems.

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to clients by addressing their concerns, answering questions, and explaining system operations and maintenance procedures.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service visits, including detailed reports on repairs, replacements, and system performance.

  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

  • Training: Stay current with advancements in solar technology and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

  • Communication: Work closely with Construction Manager as well as Operations and Maintenance teams to stay on schedule and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Autonomy & Accountability: Operate with a high degree of independence while working remotely at field sites, executing assigned work with minimal direct supervision. Demonstrate strong personal accountability, sound judgment, and motivation to meet quality, safety, and performance expectations while representing the organization professionally.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of solar power systems. Experience with electrical systems is highly desirable.

  • Certifications:

    • Enphase certifications (Installer, Technician, IQ8, CTS, etc)

    • SE certifications (No call RMA, Fundamentals, Commercial, Energy Hub, etc)

    • NABCEP PV

    • Other certifications a plus:

      • GENERAC, SPAN, SMA, IRON RIDGE, Uni-Rac, RoofTech, NEC comprehension, Tesla

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of solar power systems, electrical systems, and safety procedures.

    • Proficiency in using tools and equipment required for solar system installation and repair.

    • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.

    • Effective communication and customer service skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry equipment, work at heights, and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.

Salary Range:

$55,500.00 - $88,800.00

*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.
