Essential Function:

Join Silfex as a Shaping Manufacturing Technician, where your hands-on skills and eye for detail help create ultra-pure silicon components used in advanced technologies. In this role, you'll set up and operate shaping equipment, follow precise specifications, and use technical math and measurement tools to ensure top-tier quality. You'll get the training and support you need to grow-while making a real impact on products used around the world.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply detailed specifications before starting any machining task to ensure quality precision.
  • Read and understand blueprint and work instructions to determine procedure for machining product.
  • Operate machinery in accordance with training and equipment guidelines.
  • Machine parts per work instructions and customer specifications.
  • Inspect each finished part to ensure it meets all specifications and Silfex quality standards.
  • Ensure proper handling and care of machined components.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintain machine to ensure consistency of product.
  • Continuously build and maintain job proficiency through hands-on experience and training.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage your time efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Remain up-to-date on technical skills and relevant department knowledge.
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe to support a productive and efficient environment.
  • Perform all work-related tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to SILFEX management.
  • Application of Lean manufacturing concepts, including 5S.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
  • Operate all Crystal Shaping equipment.
  • Carry out special projects and all other appropriate and reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time.

  • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S. Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities. Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area. Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required
  • 1 to 2 years of manufacturing experience or related experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and departments
  • Ability to perform basic shop math, including geometry and fractions, and use calculator functions to verify measurements and calculations.
  • Utilize practical problem-solving skills and the ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Must be quality and safety minded
  • Must be able to assess drawings and specifications for machining and inspection results
  • Demonstrate reliability and task ownership to build trust with team members and leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Grinder Machinery or similar equipment

B Shift: 6am - 6pm

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is substantial.
