Job description

Kept Companies is hiring an AutoMist Preventative Maintenance Technician to service commercial restaurant kitchen exhaust systems and perform AutoMist inspections. This role includes hood cleaning, system inspections, and maintaining fire safety compliance for commercial kitchens.

This is a field-based position requiring mechanical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

What You'll Do
  • Perform commercial kitchen hood and exhaust system cleaning
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly AutoMist system inspections
  • Ensure all work meets NFPA 96 fire safety standards
  • Identify and document exhaust system deficiencies
  • Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues in the field
  • Install or remove AutoMist equipment when required
  • Complete service reports and inspections using mobile apps
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle
  • Communicate professionally with restaurant staff and facility managers
  • Participate in monthly travel assignments (occasional overnight)
  • What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Experience with hood cleaning, fire protection, mechanical work, or similar field work preferred
  • Knowledge of NFPA 96 standards is a plus (training available)
  • Comfortable using mobile apps and digital reporting tools
