Role Summary

As an Electrician on the Residential team, you will play a critical role in delivering battery storage systems and electrical upgrades for residential customers. Your responsibilities will include installing and commissioning Enphase and Tesla battery systems, performing residential electrical upgrades such as panel replacements and service heavy-ups, installing EV chargers, troubleshooting electrical and battery system issues, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes, and maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation and commissioning of residential battery storage systems (Enphase, Tesla)

  • Perform residential electrical upgrades, including service heavy-ups, main panel replacements, and load center modifications

  • Install and commission EV charging equipment, ensuring proper load calculations and code compliance

  • Integrate battery systems with existing electrical infrastructure and solar PV systems where applicable

  • Interpret and implement electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, load calculations, and site plans

  • Conduct electrical testing including voltage verification, continuity checks, system diagnostics, and basic commissioning

  • Troubleshoot and service battery systems, electrical equipment, and EV chargers

  • Ensure all electrical work meets company specifications, quality standards, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and local jurisdictional requirements

  • Train and mentor junior electricians and helpers on proper installation techniques and safety practices

  • Supervise job sites to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment

  • Manage on-site material organization, tools, and equipment readiness

  • Maintain detailed records of installation and service activities, including photos, reports, and system documentation

  • Communicate effectively with project managers, operations teams, and homeowners regarding project status and expectations

  • Keep company vehicles well-maintained, fully stocked, and properly serviced

  • Uphold all company policies and lead by example in following safety regulations and protocols

  • Follow all safety regulations and policies to ensure a safe working environment

  • Adhere to all of Lumina’s company policies and ensure that all safety protocols are followed

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success


Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of recent residential electrical experience; solar experience is a plus

  • Must possess an active Master’s or Journeyman license

  • Experience performing residential electrical upgrades, including heavy-ups, main panel replacements, and load center modifications

  • Hands-on experience with AC and DC electrical systems, including troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical installation projects

  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)

  • Ability to read and interpret Electrical line drawings

  • Ability to read building plans and equipment manuals

  • Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials

  • Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods

  • Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly

  • Must be proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets, utilizing them effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required

  • Proven track record of reliable attendance

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job

  • Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
